EPIC

“The ode lives upon the ideal, the epic upon the grandiose, the drama upon the real.”
Victor Hugo
Welcome back!
Hasn’t 2013 just been flying by? Missed me? I’ve been missing you all!! Here’s a look at what’s been going on around these parts apart from heaps more snow and grey clouds.
January Round Up
1. A whole lot of fun
We had an amazing Christmas! We celebrated with family up in the north of Sweden and it was perfect. It was our first Christmas where Bubba was old enough to catch on to the whole thing and it was super fun to be apart of. The Flash totally behaved and had a fun time too. Everyone was relaxed. Everyone had fun. I didn’t even complain about the cold.
2. A whole lot of not sleeping
Oh the Flash. Such a delightful baby. Such a happy little thing. All smiles. All giggles and charisma. During the day. But during the night, she turns into devil baby. From 2am to 6am she likes to wake up. A lot. I blame myself. Who wouldn’t want to spend as much time as possible with me? This has been going on for the last few months and so by now, I’m buggered. When night-time plays its melody, the kids are asleep and it’s time to blog, I choose to snooze. Sorry folks.
3. A whole lot of sniffles
Every bastard over here has either a stomach bug or a cold at the moment. Yes, all of Sweden is sick, it even made front page news last weekend. And we are so patriotic, we got in on the action too. We’ve all been hit one by one, what a delight.
Blog Central 2013 – what you can expect:
I didn’t start 2013 out with too many resolutions apart from a) eat more dumplings, b) wear more yellow. So far, I’ve had a cracker of a year!!! As you could tell by my lack of blogging in January, once again my real life has been greatly interrupting my virtual one. So as we launch into February – the month of Love – let me tell you that I am committed to buggering off my family and making a real go of my blog. None of this, ‘I’ll be a better mum crap’, I’ll be making more time for me, so let’s see what is in store.
TSH and I have set our theme for the year. Last year, we had Year of the Dragon, our creative tour de force and now let me present to you, drum roll : 2013 Year of the Epic. Yes, our guiding principle this year will be ‘EPIC’. Love, adventure, happiness; we will endeavour to do things in epic proportions. This includes but is not limited too: TSH turning 40, me complaining about Swedish weather and a big announcement.* Applause. Open the red curtain on 2013, it’s show time!!!!!
How has your 2013 been treating you? Anything epic happened yet?
*I am not pregnant. Just thought I should mention that considering a recent spate of pregnancy announcements by my favourite bloggers here, here and here. Seems to be a bit of a trend at the moment and although I am trendy, I’m giving this one a miss. (2013 will be epic, but let’s not go crazy.)
Sounds like The Flash is working on a Down Under time zone with her all night parties. Here; let me get your visas ready…. 😉
She is TOTALLY on Sydney time!
Hey girl! Happy almost February! Glad Bubba could really enjoy Christmas this year. It was fun also in our home b/c J was getting into opening and enjoying his gifts. But would you believe it, his favorite toy is still an OLD red car. What a beautiful cabin with the warm lights and snow. Bet there was fire and wine inside. Infants do have a tendency to turn evil at night! Sorry yall got sick. Hope yall feel better now. LOL on screwing your family in Feb and getting back to blogging ;). Can’t wait to see how EPIC it is! Seriously, I’m so excited! And thanks for linking up my baby new post! I’d hope you weren’t pregnant just yet. Gotta give yourself some time to recover! Hehe. Welcome back!
Thanks Lisa. Hope you are feeling great and I can’t wait to hear more bump info!
OMG that cabin picture looks like it’s from a catalogue! Or maybe it is, but I just can’t imagine being in that kind of scene!
Sorry to hear the Flash isn’t sleeping well.. but looking forward to your big announcement! Could you be moving, I wonder?!
The cabins do look like a catalogue, it is so pretty up there, we have most of our holidays up there. So lovely!
