Fractured

Oh. My. God. Finally got my MRI results. The news was actually good DESPITE IT SAYING THAT I HAVE MULTIPLE FRACTURES IN BOTH THE BONES IN MY LEFT LEG.

Although I was feeling most pain in my knee and had failed the ‘meniscus’ test, my knee was actually o.k. It is, however, surrounded by multiple fractured bones. As soon as I stand up and bare weight, the fractures undergo a stress test, which they do not like.

I was told that ‘fractures’ was good news, as once they heal I shouldn’t have any problems, whereas, with knee injuries, well that can be another story. The good news continues, I can expect chronic pain for another 4-5 weeks.

Sports injury! Well I may have been too positive with that! It seems like more of an old lady’s injury with the jury out as to why, when falling down a hill trying to save a dozen eggs before Easter, both my leg bones shattered on impact. A bone density test may well be in my future.

This will be me by next week.

A time for healing and being able to walk without medication

The Dr. sent me a referral to see a physiotherapist. I started ringing our local physio centres, but hearing that wait lists were 4+ weeks, well this news fractured my spirits.  I was pretty upset by this!

Finally, I called a place that was only a few train stops away and due to a cancellation, they could fit me in the next day. So last Friday, I met with a physio and my rehabilitation into the land of the walking pain-free has begun. She told me next time, to bring gym clothes because she is going to make me do a workout. OF FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

A long long weekend:

Tomorrow night is Walpurgis, where everyone will be lighting fires across all of Sweden to ward off evil spirits and to welcome in spring. WELL, MY BLOODY HAND IS UP FOR THAT SWEDEN, I’LL BE FRONT ROW!

  1. Wishing you a speedy recovery and good physio–or good painkillers!

Hmm. That lighting fire thing sounds weird but cathartic.

    • The fire wouldn’t have been legal in Australia, let me just say that, more news about it up soon. XXXX
